Introducing Terence....

2005 Honda XL650V Transalp.
Picture
Terence has evolved from a stock Transalp to the machine he is today with simplicity and practicality in mind. A small budget and non-existent workshop has led to both innovative and frustrating modifications, and only time will tell what will work and what won't. Here's a list of the mods to date:

- Africa Twin Aluminium Bash Plate (butchered to fit with a hacksaw, file and drill)
- SW Motech Crash Bars (Hopefully they don't need to do their job too often)
- 5 Stars Pannier Rack with Givi E36 boxes. We'll see how these hold up on their first brush with Mother Earth.
- Scottoiler Touring Kit (this has a large oil reservoir mounted to the rear fender under the number plate)
- Givi E45 Topbox
- Acerbis Rally Pro Handguards
- Oxford Tankbag which I modified by removing the magnets and sewing on some straps and buckles
- Wilbers 640 Rear Shock set up for the weight of the two of us and our luggage
- Wirth Progressive Front Springs
- Pooh-Pipe Toolbox mounted to the bash plate with some big exhaust pipe brackets
- 12V outlet in the cockpit

The pre-trip service involved the following:

- New Chain and Sprockets
- Engine Oil with K&N Filter
- K&N Air Filter
- Fork Oil change
- New Brake Pads all round
- Brake Fluid change

- Coolant change
