Cambodia
Cambodia was never part of the original route when we were planning the trip. However, as soon as we found out that Zeus was currently living in Siem Reap and we were close by in Thailand, we thought, what's an extra few hundred kms?! It was so great catching up with Zeus and we all got a little carried away on our first night which meant for a very lazy day the next day! We had already been to Cambodia a few years ago so all the tourist boxes had been ticked which meant we could just chill out and relax without feeling like we should be seeing things. It was lovely to have a house to hang out in (complete with a couch, TV and laundry lady!) for a few days instead of hotel rooms.
Tez was due for an oil change and we were having no luck finding an oil filter for him. All the Honda shops have parts for the smaller bikes they ride around here, not for beasts such as Tez! We contacted Zeus to see if he could help and his great staff at Helistar tracked down a filter for us- legends! After buying some oil from a workshop, the locals then proceeded to change it for us free of charge which meant we didn't have the hassle of getting rid of the oil. Perfect!
Zeus is flying helicopters over here and we were extremely lucky and grateful to have a ride over Angkor Wat. It was stunning! Having explored this amazing temple by foot a few years back, it was great to see it from the air and get an idea of how big it really is. An absolute highlight- thanks Zeusy!
A big thanks to Zeus and his housemate Paul, who put up with us staying in their apartment for a little too long!
