Montenegro
After leaving the hustle and bustle of Dubrovnik, Montenegro was a breath of fresh air with far less tourists but still amazing places to see. We made our way to Perast for lunch before spending the afternoon in Kotor. Both these places are listed as UNESCO World Heriatge sites- and for very good reason. We would have loved to climb the old wall surrounding the town (nearly 2000 stairs) but in 36 degrees, we decided that was best left to the elite and insane. We found a 'campground' on google maps which was on the beach and looked very inviting. As we were pulling in, we weren't sure whether it was a campground or parking for the beach. As it turns out, it's both! We pitched our tent in the middle of some cars and went for a swim/shower as the hoards of day trippers slowly evacuated around us leaving the camp quiet and spacious for the night.
Although we only spent a short 24 hours in Montenegro, the riding and scenery was spectacular and diverse, and we could have easily stayed longer.
